Bucher Industries completes acquisition of Johnston Sweepers
Bucher Industries completed the purchase of the European and Australian activities with municipal vehicles of Johnston Sweepers from Ennstone plc.

Bucher announced the acquisition of Johnston Sweepers Ltd., UK, on 18 February 2005. With receipt of mandatory anti-trust clearances in Germany and Spain and the approval of the acquisition by Ennstone shareholders, the transaction has been completed today. Bucher made a voluntary filing with the UK Office of Fair Trading whose decision is expected within the next few days.

Johnston Sweepers will be integrated into Bucher Municipal, the second largest division of Bucher Industries. In Europe the two sales organizations continue to operate independently by offering their product ranges separately. The current management of the Johnston companies will continue their present functions. Michael Häusermann, president of Bucher Municipal has appointed Coen van Rosmalen to become managing director of Johnston Sweepers Ltd., UK. Coen van Rosmalen, age 36, is an experienced manager in the field of international sales and product management. His latest position was head of corporate development of Bucher Industries.

Bucher Industries is a technology group operating worldwide with leading market positions in specialty fields of machine and vehicle construction. The company's areas of activity include specialized agricultural machinery, municipal vehicles, wine and fruit juice production plants, hydraulic components, and production equipment for the container glass industry. Bucher Industries' shares are traded at the SWX Swiss Exchange
(SWX: BUC).
