Change in leadership at Emhart Glass
Bucher Industries announces that as of January 2006, Martin Jetter will take up the position as president of Emhart Glass. The division's former president, Kurt E. Siegenthaler, will resign for age reasons by the end of 2005. Bucher Industries buys a 20% interest in the German automation and control systems specialist Jetter AG this February.

48-year-old Martin Jetter, who holds a master degree of electrical engineering from the University of Cooperative Education in Stuttgart, Germany, founded the company carrying his name in 1980 in Ludwigsburg, Germany. Acting as its CEO ever since, he steadily developed the company specialized in motive power and control engineering. Eventually, Jetter went public and was listed on the Frankfurt stock exchange in 1999. In the first 9 months of its current business year 2004/2005, Jetter AG registered 16 million EUR in sales, employing 126 coworkers worldwide. Based on Jetter's JetWeb Technology, Emhart Glass has been maintaining an intense technology partnership with Jetter AG since 2002. This cooperation resulted in a major advancement of Emhart Glass's glass forming machinery equipped with electrical servo drives. Today, Emhart Glass is an important customer of Jetter AG. Martin Jetter will be installed into his new function in the second half of 2005. Beginning January 2006, he will be relieved from operational duties at Jetter AG in order to concentrate on its strategic planning.

Kurt E. Siegenthaler assumed the direction of Emhart Glass - then still a subsidiary of Black&Decker Corporation - in the middle of 1993. After Emhart Glass had been taken over by Bucher Industries in 1998, it was under his direction that the division launched fundamentally new product generations for glass container manufacture and inspection. At present, Emhart Glass is a successful world market leader.

On 14 February 2005, Bucher Industries buys a 20% interest in Jetter AG, paying 8.50 EUR per share, i.e. a total of 5.2 million EUR. This participation is attained by means of a 10% capital increase against cash investment out of authorized capital stock as well as by additional share purchases from existing shareholders. The transaction makes Bucher Industries Jetter AG's largest shareholder.

Emhart Glass is a manufacturer of glass container machinery and production systems, posting 268 million CHF in sales and employing roughly 900 coworkers in 2004. Emhart Glass is a division of Bucher Industries, a technology group operating in specialized areas of the engineering and automotive industries. In 2004, Bucher Industries registered 1.64 billion CHF in sales with roughly 5800 employees. The group is listed on the SWX Swiss Exchange (SWX: BUC).
